This gave me a delightful laugh! My husband has owned the same steel-toed boots since long before we met. They visit the cobbler every few years to get refreshed and come back looking beautiful. I don't have a similar pair of boots (something he has been trying to change forever; we need boots more and more in Western Washington), but I like watching his boots reappear each year.
I'm glad you liked the poem, Margaret! And how cool, that your husband has had those treasured boots for so long. I love items that travel with us through time.
This is perfectly timed. I just pulled out my winter boots today. Not the big, clumsy ones I wear to shovel snow, but the more presentable ones I wear every day, to the grocery or walking to work. It was like seeing an old friend. Hello there! How have you been? I love the act of greeting seasonal clothes. What must it be like to not have to pack away half your wardrobe twice a year?
We don't get snow here but we get rain and I love my rain boots. I stomp in puddles whenever I can.
A beloved pair of rain boots is on my wish list! :)
I recommend Hunter Boots. They are a bit pricey but they’ll last forever.
Piercing, Adam.
Thank you, Mahdi! 🙏

Yes, I have the same experience! Greeting seasonal items like old friends. :)
