I absolutely love this poem. And it IS a poem. Mostly because you wrote it and you say it is, but also because it is. 😉telling a whole story with brevity is a deeply crafted skill.❤️

Love this, Adam. Also, your pajama poem. Just don’t know where to find the prompts.

Thank you, Mary! 🙏 And do you mean the February Poetry Adventure prompts? Petra is posting them in two places:

1: She updates this post every day with the new prompt: https://petrahernandez.substack.com/p/february-poetry-adventure-prompts

2: And she sends out the daily prompt as a new note: https://substack.com/@petrahernandez/notes

3: (bonus third option) She also posts the prompt to her IG every day: https://www.instagram.com/petraglyphs

Definitely a poem. Very good one. I usually struggle with writing short poems because I start and what I'm writing is so fun the poem ends up way longer than I intended. Getting better at it and even better at being satisfied with the results and leaving it alone.

There are literally so many rules about poetry that there can also be a state where no rules are the best rules. Yours is a complete story, which is the goal, I think. I've chosen to set rules for this poetry challenge because I normally write long novels and essays in prose. And also because I'm afraid of writing poetry so I need boundaries! Thank you for mentioning me.

Thanks, Jo! And I'm very inspired by choice to write in different forms for the month. :)

This is most certainly a poem, and I heartily endorse the sentiment. I like how you're posting your February adventure poems as Notes. I may copy you!

I think it’s brilliant. It evokes emotion, imagery, and resonates with the reader (at least for me). It does all the poem things it should. :)
