It’s been cool and sunny here, after a few days of rain, and every flower in town seems to be waking up at once. It reminds me of this poem I wrote a few years ago, based on an entirely true and factual story:
While Buying Flowers
I saw Santa Claus himself at the garden store today, beard and everything. He was buying a geranium! You know what? On second thought, don’t quote me on that. It may have been a petunia.
I don’t know a lot about flowers, but I definitely know Santa when I see him.
